MindBody Regional Networking Groups

Below are the contact details for the currently registered MindBody NZ Regional Networking Groups. To register your group please contact Dr Renske van den Brink at

r.vdbrink@mindbody.org.nz

All that is required is that your group submits the name of a key person – 'The Regional Co-ordinator' who would be willing to be the ‘front person’ for the group ie receiving enquiries, co-ordinating your email lists and notices etc.

How you run your group is completely up to you. Some groups will have monthly meetings, some quarterly. Some groups will function mainly as ‘support groups’ and some will have a more educational and/or experiential focus. Size will vary – if you are a really big groups you may consider smaller ‘cell groups’ monthly, with the larger group meeting quarterly.
However in order for there to be some congruence with ‘The MindBody Trust New Zealand’ we ask that you use ' The Purposes of the Trust' document as a guide for your core group values.

Some ideas to help the flow begin:

  • Perhaps start by having a social gathering to reconnect eg shared meal or ‘nibbles after work’ with a ‘check –in’ to see what people want to gain from the group.
  • Repeat a workshop from the conference if you have a presenter in your midst.
  • As your group gains trust and confidence, sharing a challenging client can be really useful as a ‘group supervision’ event. Using role-plays to creatively explore alternatives is often fun and enlightening.
  • Try to stay very close to what your group wants. It’s worth spending the time to explore this so that your group holds it’s focus and motivation.
  • Visiting speakers can be good – however you will have wonderful expertise right within your group and often it is more dynamic to use your own resources first.
  • Above all ENJOY YOURSELVES!!! If you find you are getting a bit stale do something different eg have a social outing, do some singing, orchestrate one of those ‘sit in a circle’ mutual massage sessions...or something! Our groups are an opportunity to model the holistic ‘MindBody’ themes of the conference - it’s got to be fun!
