INDEX.

1.  2010 MINDBODY CONFERENCE IN AUCKLAND
2.  KEYNOTE SPEAKERS FOR MINDBODY CONFERENCE
3.  2010 GESTALT THERAPY CONFERENCE IN NEW ZEALAND
4. INTEGRATIVE WORKSHOPS AT SOUL CENTRE, AUCKLAND

2010 is conference year. We are very fortunate to have two, very different, international 'holistic' healthcare conferences in Aotearoa/New Zealand this year. In October the Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust, in association with the MindBody Trust, will be presenting a national conference focussed on 'science, consciousness and spirituality'. The conference will be held in Auckland, and will include workshops led by three world-leading authors in this field; Larry Dossey, Marilyn Mandala Schlitz, and Russell Targ. To whet your appetite, take a gander at the following book titles by these authors:
* Recovering the Soul: A Scientific and Spiritual Approach (Larry Dossey)
* Living Deeply: The Art and Science of Transformation in Everyday Life (Marilyn Mandala Schiltz)
* Miracles of Mind: Exploring Nonlocal Consciousness and Spritual Healing (Targ)

And in September, Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ) will be running their 7th international conference beside the lake and mountains of Queenstown.  This conference explores the interface between clinical practice and the wider community, political system, and natural environment in which we 'live, move and have our being' (to quote St Paul). The conference has a unique (and very Gestalt) format, consisting of experiential workshops for theme exploration, open spaces for emergent action and experimentation, free-time for self-reflection and renewal, and small groups for dialogue and integration.

Warm wishes to you all,
Mark Murphy (Newsletter Editor)

 3.  INTERNATIONAL GESTALT THERAPY CONFERENCE IN NEW ZEALAND: A PART OF THE WHOLE, A PART TO PLAY
The 7th International GANZ Conference 2010 is being held in Queenstown, New Zealand. 'GANZ' stands for Gestalt Australia and New Zealand, and represents Gestalt therapy practitioners and training centres in both countries. The theme for the upcoming conference is 'A part of the whole, a part to play', and will explore the part therapists can play as 'citizen practitioners' who are awake and attending to what is happening around us, politically, socially, culturally, and ecologically. The gathering will also explore forms of gestalt activism for our times that involve doing "modest, useful, serviceable things which make a difference".
The conference theme will be explored in each designated area of community, practice and life. There will be plenary presentations and experiential activities to support the discovery process. A range of processes will be used to engage participants in the inquiry process including experiential workshops for theme exploration, open spaces for emergent action and experimentation, free-time for self-reflection and renewal, and small groups for dialogue and integration.   The guest facilitator for the conference is Dr Malcolm Parlett, former editor of the British Gestalt Journal, and well-known in the Gestalt community for his writings on "Field Theory" and psychotherapy.
