Aims of the MindBody conference 2006
The focus of the 2006 MindBody conference is the body, and ways in which it powerfully expresses what is manifesting in the whole person.
The aim of the conference is to explore the ‘language of the body,’ which can enable the practitioner to address the ways a person’s story, life experience, relational circumstances and cultural context are reflected in illness, disease, and suffering. A presenting physical symptom can be viewed as an important message, stimulating a novel range of therapeutic responses, rather than being just a mechanistic dysfunction; a manifestation of the limitations of a ‘physiological machine.’
Trusting the Language of the Body will feature both international and local speakers, and present a varied and exciting programme, including presentations of scientific research, theories of healing, and practical ways of tuning into and interpreting the body’s expression of un-wellness and dis-ease. There will be interactive workshops and, as in our very successful 2004 conference, the programme will foster creative opportunites, active participation, humour, and fun!
